Day 2 : MAHABALIPURAM
As you wake up with the golden sun over the Bay of Bengal and treat yourself to a sumptuous breakfast. We will take for a guided discovery of the magnificent UNESCO world heritage site of Mahabalipuram, which was the beginning of Stone Temple Architecture by the Pallava Kings. You will be treated to beautiful bas reliefs, rock cut monolithic temples and the first South Indian constructed stone temple. This was what started defining Dravidian Temple architecture.

Day 3 : MAHABALIPURAM – PONDICHERRY
You will be going to Pondicherry today. It is a total contrast to what you have seen so far. Pondicherry is a small coastal town with French colonial buildings. The ambience is very Mediterranean. You will be able to walk around in the quaint little streets written and named in French. You will see old buildings with columns, arches. Day 4: PONDICHERRY – GANGAICONDACHOLAPURAM – DARASURAM – TANJORE
Leaving from Pondicherry for Tanjore is one of the richest days in your entire Tamil Nadu and Kerala holidays. You will be visiting three different monuments that will show you the true nature of Dravidian history and architectural prowess. Two of these are UNESCO World Heritage sites. You will be at the heart of 800 – 1100 year old Dravidian architecture and pre-medieval South Indian culture.

Day 5 : TANJORE – (TRICHY) SRIRANGAM – TANJORE
Today you will be going for an extraordinary excursion to the city of Trichy to visit the Srirangam Temple. As you approach Srirangam, you will be astonished at the sight of the world’s tallest Gopuram, the Temple Gateway. This is considered to be the world’s largest functioning Hindu temple. Buy a ticket to climb to the roof. You will be stunned by the immensity of the temple where you can see seventeen of the twenty one Gopurams at one go all around you. This is another high point in Tamil Nadu of your holiday in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
In the afternoon temple view the splendid bronzes of the Chola period and the majestic Tanjore temple with the setting sun. Remember to visit the living elephant god that blesses people.

Day 6 : TANJORE – CHETTINAD
Just like the merchant class in Rajasthan, Chettinad is the region of the merchant class in South India known as the Chettiyars. They had a flourishing trade in the region and with the countries of South Asia. You can see the prosperity of this region in the palatial mansions, the intricately carved teakwood pillars, the floors made of beautiful locally made Arthangudi tiles and of course the laid back style of the folks here that typify luxury and affluence.

Day 7 : CHETTINAD – MADURAI
If you have seen magnificent Dravidian architecture dating back more than a millennium, Madurai is the soul of all of what you saw today. Madurai is the soul of Tamil Nadu. Here you will experience the vibrant devotional aspect of Hinduism in the heart of the Meenakshi Temple. This would be your last temple visit in your Tamil Nadu and Kerala luxury tour.

Day 8 : MADURAI – PERIYAR
Today you will be quitting Tamil Nadu and this is where you enter Kerala and your Kerala luxury tour begins to take final shape. Your holiday in Kerala has just begun. Day 10 : PERIYAR – KUMARAKOM
Breathe in the fresh air. Feast your eyes on the greenery around you. Drive your way through spice, coffee and tea plantations. You will be going to one of the biggest lakes in the India, the Wembanad Lake. This is a continuation of the bio-diversity hotspot from Periyar. Life and vegetation along the banks of the lagoon is simply stunning. Your resort will be right on the banks of the Lake and you will have a stunning view of sunset for as long as you wish to stay.

Day 11 : KUMARAKOM
These are moments of enjoying what is a true Kerala luxury tour. No wakeup call. Spend a leisurely morning next to the lake. Have a sumptuous breakfast. Later in the day go to the jetty to board the typical Kerala rice boat converted to a Houseboat that is waiting exclusively for you for your cruise on the backwaters. Another luxurious experience of moving on the water highways of this region enjoying the view of the varied vegetation, the life on the banks of the lake, the fisheries till you get hungry. And then you served your meal on board. You can then rock off to your afternoon siesta on the sunbathed docks. Later you are served tea and cookies. As sun begins to go down, you will be brought back to your jetty. A truly satisfying day of luxurious enjoyment.

Day 12 : KUMARAKOM – COCHIN
Leaving your green haven, we will be taking you back to civilisation, to For Cochin. Fort Cochin has a historical charm that you will find nowhere else in Kerala. It used to be the colonial hub of sailors landing here 5 centuries ago. The activity was so intense; you can still feel the same vibrancy as you walk along discovering the old arches and buildings, the harbour area, the Chinese fishing nets at dusk. And in the evening, we will take you for an authentic spectacle of a Kerala classical dance form, Kathakali which will leave you spellbound with its intricate makeup and fantastic performance.

Day 13 : COCHIN
