What is the Best Time to visit Thekkady, Kerala? Read on to know… Thekkady, which is also known by the...
In the Fort Cochin neighbourhood, Brunton Boatyard used to be a ship building yard in the 19th century. After independence, some of these yards went into oblivion. In the late 20th century, this yard was remodelled to a luxury hotel overlooking the harbour. The Brunton Boatyard was transformed into what we consider to be the finest subtle luxury that one can find in Fort Cochin.
As you walk into the hotel, you are greeted by a large inner courtyard that has trees that are more than a century old. The interior design is actually like that of a boatyard. The furnishings used are reminiscent of a heady mix of Dutch, English and Portuguese influences. The architecture is airy, light and beautifully lit up by natural light. You have photographic prints from a period that is more than 100 years old. The cuisine is refined and delectable. Look for the seafood restaurant that opens only at night. The views from the rooms of the passing ships are fabulous.
Our rating from all hotels in Cochin 5/5
We are fascinated by India and its people. And the way Maavalan showed us India was nothing short of exceptional. They have an excellent network, superb choice of hotels and world class service.
I was so glad to know when Maavalan Travels announced their programme to Ladakh and North India. I jumped on to the programme and was genuinely happy with my experience and have been wanting to go back to India ever since with Maavalan again. Highly recommended.
We did an extremely satisfying Kumbh Mela trip with Maavalan Travels. They did an amazing job where there were 1million visitors every day. We are certainly coming back to India and we will travel with Maavalan Travels again to visit South India.
We organised an important tour for a very important client with Maavalan Travels. We certainly feel that these guys have the knowledge and the experience to understand the minute needs of high end clients.
